Customize it!
An example of custom work on a Precision Series model.

Due to their high level of detail that provides a great starting point, Tonkin Replicas Precision Series models are ideal for customizing. Shown here are two models- what started as a Precision Series Peterbilt Model 379 70” Sleeper cab along with a 48’ Signature Series Van trailer bought out of open stock.

The goal was to create a very unique “one-of-a-kind” Peterbilt show truck any owner operator could be proud of. Adding such detail as real hardwood flooring to the interior of the cab, cutting down the roof to create a flattop effect on the sleeper, and changing the positions of the airlines connecting the cab and trailer were only a few of the minor changes made. The hard part was handcrafting a new Texas bumper, a new long cab visor, horns behind the cab, and aftermarket grille, etc! With any model of this quality, it was important to spend time detailing the lights in the mirrors, adding the CB antenna, and painting the whole model a special red color to accent all these features. To make sure the refrigerated trailer stayed in theme a spread axle was put in to make sure the trailer fit with the cab!

A true showpiece.

Now if only they would let us put scale models into the Show ‘N Shine…
