The D7C model was introduced by Caterpillar in 1955, and among other improvements, it came with a new and more powerful D339 engine. The D7C was used for general bulldozing, pan pushing, tree dozing, scraper towing and other types of construction work. Production of D7C ended in 1959, when it was replaced by the D7D.

The Caterpillar 966A was built from 1960 through 1963. Key attributes of the machine included a turbocharged diesel engine, power shift transmission, “one finger” shifting controls and 2-3/4 cubic yard bucket capacity. Caterpillar’s design put the lift arms and hydraulic cylinders ahead of the operator’s compartment. This allowed the operator to mount and dismount the cabin more easily, kept moving parts away from the operator, and provided enhanced forward reach. Years Built: 1931-1933

The Twenty-Five was introduced in late 1931, just as Caterpillar was transitioning from dark gray paint they used since 1925, to the now familiar Hi-way yellow. For customers who were not reay for such a drastivc change, Caterpillar also offered, at no additional charge, tractors painted in a silver gray paint used more commonly on their engine power units.
