Tri-Axle Western Star Prototype

Included here are some early photos of the tri-axle Western Star modifications currently in process. Photos are of a prototype, not actual, however comments are welcome here.

Features will include the use of a float tire on the front steer axle of the cab and the option to chose between one of several tire options for the "drop" axle.

Western Star is well known as a leader in tough, rugged, heavy haul cabs, and every effort has been made to capture this spirt in the early development phases. After a review of the prototype, and slight changes, the next stage will be to create steel tooling for this new frame in order to provide another option for the existing PEM Western Star 4900 cab.

One goal is to provide a strong owner operator platform. Another goal is to provide a solid platform for 1:64 scale custom builders to add unique features and make it their own- just like the owners of the real trucks would.

Comments from the original PRO-E design (such as what kind of wheel to put on the drop axle) were incorporated (but making multiple options) and all feedback is appreciated. Calculated comments, general observations, fleet recommendations, our casual notes are all read.
